My life so far

Born May 21 1959, Bergen op Zoom, The Netherlands.

I grew up in a house where there was always music. My father’s record collection included works of J.S. Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Brahms, as well as Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Oscar Peterson. No wonder I grew up to be the music lover I am.

Started to play electric bass guitar at age 19. Played in funk and rock bands.

1984-1989 studied jazz double bass at the Arnhem Conservatory with Henk Haverhoek.

1987 attended a masterclass given by Miroslav Vitous.
